Which Trustpilot API you can actually get
Trustpilot sells two APIs. The API module is an add-on for Trustpilot for Business customers and returns data about your own business. Data Solutions covers other companies, but its entry tier returns only the 5 latest reviews, the full review tier comes through a waitlist, and neither has a public price.
That split decides most projects. A brand that wants its own reviews in its CRM buys the API module and is done. A team that wants competitors' reviews, a category's TrustScores or a review history across 500 companies needs Data Solutions Insights, which means registering interest, waiting for a partner manager and negotiating a price, with one active API key per organization and a cache that must be refreshed every 24 hours.
The public company pages show the same reviews to anyone. A Trustpilot scraper API reads them through residential addresses with a real browser, returns the fields you name as JSON, and lets you keep the history in your own database, starting today.

Where Trustpilot's own route wins: if you only need your own reviews and already pay for Trustpilot for Business, the API module gives clean IDs, webhooks for new reviews and no rendering to manage. If you want to show TrustScores with Trustpilot's blessing inside a public product, Data Solutions is the licensed path. For everything that starts with "every competitor" or "the last three years", the public pages are the practical source.
What Trustpilot data jobs cost per month
One company page or one review page is one request. A Trustpilot review page lists up to 20 reviews, newest first when you ask for the recent sort. Daily checks read page one and go deeper only when something new appears. Monthly billing.
| Job | Requests per month | WebScrap plan | Trustpilot route |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1,000 competitor brands checked daily for new reviews | about 30,000 | 49 USD, Starter | Data Solutions Insights, price on request |
| Backfill 500 brands with 2,000 reviews each | about 50,000, once | 49 to 149 USD for that month | Insights only, Display stops at 5 reviews |
| TrustScore of every company in 40 categories, weekly | about 20,000 | 49 USD, Starter | Display or Insights, price on request |
| 10,000 brands for a review analytics product, daily | about 300,000 | 499 USD, Scale | Insights plus a 24 hour refresh rule on anything displayed |
Our figures assume each page loads on the first try. A page that comes back as a WAF block is retried through a fresh residential address and only the successful fetch counts against your plan. Plan details are on the pricing page.
How to scrape Trustpilot reviews in four steps
01
List the companies
Start from your competitor list, or from a Trustpilot category page such as web hosting or car insurance, and ask for each company's name, TrustScore, review count and profile URL.
02
Key on the domain
Trustpilot profiles are addressed by the company's domain, as in /review/example.com. Store that domain as your key, so a rebrand or a second profile never merges two companies.
03
Read the review pages
Name the fields: rating, title, text, date of experience, date posted, verified label and company reply. Step through ?page=2, ?page=3 until the dates pass your cutoff.
04
Schedule the refresh
Growth and Scale save the request as a job that runs every morning and posts new reviews to your webhook, so a 1 star review on a rival's billing change reaches your sales team the same day.
The request is a POST to /v1/scrape with the Trustpilot URL, rendering on, and a plain English list of fields, as the API docs show. The same key reads Google, Yelp and Tripadvisor, so one review table can hold every platform: see the Google Reviews API, the Yelp scraper API and the Tripadvisor scraper API.
Who buys a Trustpilot scraper and what they run on it
SaaS and DTC
Product marketing and CX teams
Read every competitor review that mentions price, support or a missing feature, and turn the complaints into battlecards and a roadmap backlog.
Agencies
Reputation and review agencies
Audit a prospect's full Trustpilot history before the pitch, then report clients' Trustpilot next to Google and Yelp in one monthly dashboard.
Analytics
Review analytics and comparison products
Track TrustScore and review velocity for thousands of companies per category and keep the time series that Trustpilot's display rules do not give you.
Finance
Investors and due diligence teams
Score an acquisition target's customer sentiment over 36 months, spot a support collapse after a price rise, and compare it with its category.
Four mistakes that break a Trustpilot scraper
Measured on October 8, 2026 against a company review page.
Parsing the challenge page as a company with no reviews. Trustpilot answers plain clients with a 266 byte JSON 403, and clients with a browser user agent with a "Verifying Connection" page that loads an AWS WAF challenge script. A homegrown script that only checks for HTTP 200 on the second case writes an empty review list. A managed API treats both as a failed fetch, retries through another residential address with a real browser and does not bill it.
Confusing the two dates. Each review carries the date of experience the customer chose and the date it was posted. Trend lines built on the posted date lag real events; complaint spikes built on the experience date can be backfilled weeks later. Store both.
Ignoring the filters Trustpilot applies by default. A company page can default to recommended order and to reviews in the visitor's language. Ask for the recent sort and for all languages on purpose, or your daily check misses new reviews written in German or French.
Building on the free looking route. Teams prototype with their own API module key, then the product needs competitors. The module only covers your own business, and the Data Solutions tier that returns full histories has a waitlist and a negotiated price. Decide on the data source before the first sprint, not after the first customer asks.
Trustpilot API and scraper questions
Does Trustpilot have an API?
Yes, two of them. The API module is a paid add-on for Trustpilot for Business customers and returns data about their own business. Data Solutions is a separate product for reviews of other companies, sold in two tiers, Display API and Insights API, with access through a waitlist and a partner manager.
Is the Trustpilot API free?
No. The API module is an add-on to a paid Trustpilot for Business plan, sold in tiers of 200,000 calls a year, 1,000,000 calls a year and unlimited, and the Enterprise plan includes the first tier. Data Solutions has no public price at all. You register interest and a member of Trustpilot's team contacts you.
Can I get reviews of other companies from the Trustpilot API?
Not from the API module, which covers your own business. Data Solutions does cover other companies: its Display API returns up to the 5 latest reviews per business, and only the Insights API returns all service reviews, 10 per page with a next page token. Both require an approved account.
How do I get an API key for Trustpilot?
For your own business, buy the API module add-on in Trustpilot for Business and register an application to get a key and secret. For Data Solutions, join the waitlist, wait for a partner manager to set up your organization, then generate a key in the Data Solutions web app. An organization can hold only one active key.
Can you scrape Trustpilot reviews?
Yes. Every company page on Trustpilot is public and lists reviews with star rating, title, text, date of experience, verification label and the company's reply. A scraping API reads those pages through residential addresses with a real browser, page by page, and returns the fields as JSON without a Trustpilot account.
Why does my Trustpilot scraper get a 403?
Trustpilot filters traffic at the edge. On October 8, 2026 a plain HTTP request to a company review page returned HTTP 403 from CloudFront with a JSON message saying the request was identified as coming from a bot, and a request with a browser user agent got an AWS WAF challenge page instead. Residential addresses with browser rendering get the real page.
What data can you scrape from Trustpilot?
From a company page, the TrustScore, star rating, total review count, star distribution, category and website. From each review, the star rating, title, text, date of experience, date posted, verification label, the reviewer's display name and country, and the company reply with its date. Category pages give lists of competitors with scores.
How much does it cost to scrape Trustpilot?
On WebScrap one page is one request at a flat rate: 49 USD a month buys 50,000 pages on Starter and Scale works out to 0.33 USD per 1,000. A Trustpilot company page lists up to 20 reviews, so 50,000 pages cover about a million reviews. Blocked fetches are retried and never billed.
Is it legal to scrape Trustpilot?
Reading public pages is generally not unauthorized access under US law after the hiQ v. LinkedIn rulings, but Trustpilot's terms forbid automated collection, so contract claims are possible. Collect only the fields you need, do not republish reviews as your own content, keep reviewer names out of your records unless you need them and have counsel review the use.
What is the best Trustpilot scraper for a business?
For one pull of a few thousand reviews, a pay per result marketplace scraper is fine. For daily monitoring of hundreds of competitors, or a product that shows Trustpilot data next to Google and G2, a scraping API on a flat monthly plan costs less per review and lets you keep your own history.
