In one paragraph
Starter, Growth, Scale and Enterprise payments are not returned once collected. The only exceptions are a duplicate charge, a charge shown to be fraudulent and a complete API outage, each described below, and any refund goes back to the paying card alone.
How plans are billed
Plans bill in advance, monthly or yearly. From the first day of a period you have the plan's monthly quota of successful requests, its features and its data retention window. The fee pays for that period of access rather than for requests actually made, so it is earned when the period opens, and unsent requests are never converted into money.
Both the pricing page and the API documentation set out what each plan covers before you pay. Subscribing asks us to activate your keys immediately, and you agree that any statutory withdrawal or cooling-off right is spent once they are active.
Credits owed under an Enterprise SLA reduce future invoices as that agreement sets out. They are not cash and are outside this page.
When money goes back
Every claim is weighed against our logs and the transaction data, and nothing is refunded above the charge in question.
- Duplicate billing. One period was charged twice because of a fault in our billing.
- Fraud on your card. A stranger put a WebScrap plan on your card, your report lands with us within two weeks (14 days) of that charge, and the logs agree. The evidence decides, not the claim, and a copy of the fraud report lodged with your bank may be requested.
- The API was down entirely. No request could be served for a continuous period because of a fault we confirmed on our side, you raised it as it happened, and service was not restored. Higher latency, raised error rates on certain targets, or problems on your own network are not covered.
An agreed refund is limited to the amount paid for the affected period, returns to the card that was billed, and fully settles that charge. It does not lead to any further refund.
Cases we do not refund
- A target site started blocking, redesigned its pages or dropped fields your schema relies on.
- The scraped data was partial or not what you hoped to gather.
- Fewer requests than your quota, or none, were sent in a paid period.
- The project was shelved, or you switched to an in-house crawler.
- Requests were made with a key a teammate used or that leaked from your code.
- Renewal ran because no one cancelled in time, or cancellation came just after it.
- A renewal collected on a retry after an earlier decline.
- Reading the plan as a one off payment, although pricing, checkout and the receipt email all describe renewal.
- Choosing a bigger plan or a yearly term where a smaller or monthly one would have been enough.
- A capability not described for your plan.
- Days remaining after cancellation. Keys keep working to the end of the period, with no partial credit.
Renewal and declined cards
Cancel whenever you like on the billing page of your account. After that nothing renews, and your API keys stay live until the period you paid for is over. Cancelling is not treated as a refund request.
Without a cancellation the plan renews by itself: the new period opens your request quota and its fee is due at once. If the card is declined, the fee remains owed and our payment operator retries it over the following days, always for the same unpaid invoice and never as an added charge. Cancelling during those retries prevents later periods, while the invoice for the period already running stays payable. Cancel before the renewal date in your account if you want to avoid the next one.
Asking for a refund
Write to support@webscrap.com from the email registered to your WebScrap account, within 14 days of the charge, giving its date, its amount and the exception you rely on. Late requests or requests from other addresses are not reviewed, and a decision is not reopened.
Reach us before your bank. Opening a chargeback without contacting us first breaches the terms of service, and the account is shut permanently.
Logs and evidence
Before payment, checkout lists the plan, price, billing term and automatic renewal, and your receipt and account repeat them. Opening an account binds you to the terms of service, which contain this policy and the privacy policy.
Per subscription we keep when it was bought, the plan and price at checkout, your acceptance of the terms, our emails and renewal reminders, and an account log of sign-ins, keys issued and revoked, and request volumes. Our payment operator records each transaction on its side too, noting the country that issued the card, where the payment originated and whether 3D Secure was passed. Claims are tested against these logs, and they are what a bank receives from us if a chargeback is filed.
Older subscriptions
Subscriptions bought before 14 October 2026 keep the terms in force on their purchase date until their current period ends.
